Tour Itinerary

Day 1 -: MUNNAR (Cochin – Munnar 135 Kms/04 hrs drive)

Pick up from Cochin International Airport/Railway Station. Proceed to Munnar - a pleasing 04:00 hrs journey riding through the picturesque hills jacketed in greenish tea and spice plantations. The cab will stop in many of the places on the way to enjoy the beautiful nature, waterfalls and sceneries.

MUNNAR is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. 1600 mts above sea level, the hill station was the favored summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days. Sprawling tea plantations, pristine valleys, mountains and aroma of spice scented cool air make Munnar is a resort town. Among the exotic flora found in the forests and grasslands here is the Neelakurinji, this flower blooms once in every twelve years.

On arrival check in at Hotel and rest of the times relax and remove your hang over of the long trip.

After breakfast proceed to sightseeing at Munnar. Visit Eravikulam National Park at Rajamala (Here you can see the Nilgiri Thar), Echo Point, Mattupetty Lake and Dam, Tea Plantations and TATA Tea processing Factory, Kundale Lake, Anayirankal Dam, Gap Point etc..

After breakfast, drive to Thekkady. A scenic 03:00 hrs drive from Munnar. The very sound of the word Thekkady conjures up images of elephants, unending chains of hills and spices scented plantations. In the Periyar Forest of Thekkady is one of the finest wild life reserves in India, and spread across the entire district are picturesque plantations and hill towns that hold great opportunities for treks and mountain walks.

On arrival check in at Hotel and after fresh up visit spice market and spice plantations. Here you can see the Pepper, Cardamom, Vanilla, Cinnamon and other spices are grown.

Note :- Optional activities like; Boating at Periyar Lake, Bullock cart ride, Bamboo Rafting, Trekking, Elephant safari, Spice Plantation Tour, Border Hiking, Tribal Village Visit, Cloud Walk, Periyar Tiger Trail, Kalari Payattu (A traditional martial Art), Kathakali Show (A traditional performance-Art), Jungle Jeep Safari and Ayurveda Massages etc.. are available here in Thekkady and these are not included in the package. After early breakfast proceeding to ALLEPPEY: (The Venice of the East) is a district of immense natural beauty, caressed by the Arabian Sea in the west and a vast network of Lakes, Lagoons and freshwater rivers criss-crossing the backwater county.

On arrival check-in at Houseboat cruise Alleppey round (a luxury boat made in ethnic Kerala style having well appointed sitting room, bedrooms, toilet and kitchen) enjoy the tranquil beauty of the inland waters and the countryside for one day.

Houseboat Cruise at ALLEPPEY through narrow canals ~ Pathiramanal Island ~ Virgin village ~ paddy fields ~ historical places ~ Temples ~ Churches ~ Snake boat ~ Coconut beer shop (Toddy shop) ~ Kuttanad Village etc. Enjoy spectacular lush green paddy fields, where you may enjoy an unique nature, life style of village people and their activities like Coir roping, Toddy tapping etc.

Meals served will be of typical Kerala cuisine. Welcome Drink: Tender Coconut, Lunch: Boiled/Basmati Rice, vegetables, fish fry/curry, salads, Pappad. Evening: Tea / coffee with snacks & Banana Fry. Candle Light Dinner: Rice/Chapathy, Dal Curry, Vegetable Curries and Chicken Curry. Breakfast: Bread with butter, jam & eggs or Kerala style Breakfast (Iddly/Dosa). All meals will be provided in the House Boat. Any changes required will have to be intimated in advance. Pure Vegetarian dishes, Dishes with Less Spicy for European Guest, North Indian Recipes etc. are also known to our Chef.

Guest can also buy fresh Prawn, Crab or any fresh fish during their cruise from fishermen (fresh catch) and our Chef will prepare if for the guest according to there taste without any additional charge.

Overnight stay at Houseboat

After breakfast from Houseboat, proceeding to KOVALAM, it is internationally renowned beach has been favorite haunt of tourists since 1930's. Kovalam consists of three adjacent crescent beaches. The southernmost, known as the -Light House beach- is the most popular.

On arrival check in at beach side hotel and after fresh up proceed to Trivandrum city sightseeing. Visit Padmanabha Swamy Temple: This temple is located inside the East Fort. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the Temple is a blend of the Kerala and Dravidian styles of architecture. It is known for its mural paintings and stone carving. (Dress Code: DHOTHY for men and SAREE for women). The Zoological Park: (10.00am to 6.15 pm- Closed on Mondays). One of the first Zoo in India. It is located in a well planed Botanical Garden, with huge trees, sprawling lawns and wild fowl swimming in the lakes which feel like a small jungle in the heart of the City. A reptile house with different species of snakes is also located in this premise. Science and Technology Museum Complex: The exhibits here are related to Science, Technology and Electronics.(10.00 AM to 05.00 PM -Closed on Mondays) Priyadarshiny Planetarium: (Daily shows from 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM) Napier Museum & Sree Chitra Art Gallery: (10.00 AM to 04.45 PM- Closed on Mondays and Wednesday forenoons) Located near the Napier Museum, this art gallery displays select paintings of RAJA RAVI VARMA, Svetlana and Nicholas Roerich and exquisite works from the Rajput, Mughal and Tanjore schools of art in India. The collection also includes paintings from China, Japan, Tibet and Bali. Finish the sightseeing before 5’ o clock and driver to beach and watch sunset.

Over night stay at Kovalam

After early breakfast, stroll on the beach and enjoying the bay of calm water ideal for sea bathing. Proceed to Kanyakumari, it is famous pilgrim centre situated at southernmost tip of the Peninsular India, the confluence of three seas Arabian Sea, The Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal, it is a beautiful blend of sun, sea and sand and breathing divinity into the air, water and fire. It is the only place in India where one can enjoy the unique experience of watching the sunset and moonrise simultaneously on a full moon evening.

On the way visit PADMANABHAPURAM PALACE, this ancient royal palace of the Travancore Dynasty is situated at Thuckalai. It is a well preserved wooden palace, a glorious testimony to the traditional Kerala School of Architecture (Closed on Monday). Afterwards visit SUCHEENDRAM TEMPLE. An ancient perfect model of South Indian Temple architecture dedicated to the blended form of Brahma, Vishu and Shiva.

Reach at Kanyakumari and visit Kumari Amman Temple, the colossal 133-foot tall Tiruvalluvar Statue, Gandhi Memorial, Beach, Swami Vivekananda Rock Memorial and watch sunset and back to Kovalam.

After breakfast drive to Cochin, on arrival check in at hotel and after fresh up proceed to sightseeing at Fort Cochin – visit Jewish Synagogue (Built in 1568 AD. Closed on Saturdays & Jewish Holidays). Dutch Palace (Built in 1557 AD Closed on Friday & National Holidays). ST. Francis Church (Built by Portuguese in 1503 AD) Santa Cruz Cathedral, Maritime Museum- INS DRONACHARYA FORT KOCHI (Monday Holiday), Chinese Fishing Nets (The Chinese Fishing Nets that, line the sea-front and exhibit a method of catching fish, introduced by Chinese traders)

After breakfast, departure with lot of memories and thousands of photographs. The cab will drop you at COCHIN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT/RAILWAY STATION.
